President Barack Obama

President Barack Obama and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will meet with seniors today to discuss healthcare reform and reducing fraud and scams targeted at the elderly.

At 11:15 Eastern Time, Obama and Sebelius will address seniors in person at the Holiday Park Multipurpose Senior Center in Wheaton, MD. The event will be simulcast on C-SPAN and online, with mini town hall gatherings also taking place at about 115 senior care facilities nationwide. The conversation will focus at least partly on efforts to combat senior scams and fraud in advance of the first mailing of the $250 ╥donut hole╙ rebate checks, according to the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, which is a co-sponsor of the event.

In addition to C-SPAN, the 90-minute event will be shown online at www.whitehouse.gov and www.healthreform.gov. To participate in the question-and-answer portion of the tele-town hall, call (800) 837-1935 and use pass code 80272058. Callers are encouraged to dial in early to secure a line.
