A 63-year-old nursing home resident allegedly killed his roommate by forcing a sandwich down his throat, Mississippi authorities say. The sandwich was contained in a cellophane bag.

William Park, 83, was found dead at the Hillcrest Nursing Center on Tuesday at about 9:30 p.m., according to Magee police. The police department and state Attorney General's Office conducted an investigation and arrested Jerrell Eubanks on Wednesday, police say.

Eubanks is charged with second-degree murder and faces life in prison if convicted, authorities report.

The Hillcrest Nursing Center is a 120-bed, for-profit facility in Magee, MS. Hillcrest is not making any public comments at this time, a spokesperson told McKnight's.
