Not so fast: New economic stimulus bill in precarious position

A $100 billion stimulus package that contains $37.8 billion in additional Medicaid funding could have been defeated almost the moment it was introduced, according to reports from Washington.

Report: Diabetes now costing the nation $218 billion yearly

The total cost of diabetes to the nation was roughly $218 billion in 2007, according to a new report released on Tuesday. Diabetes prevalence is soaring in the general public, and among the nursing home population in particular.
