Senate could vote again on minimum wage hike

Senators could get another crack at voting to increase the minimum wage.

Business groups and other factions have been pushing for another vote on the so-called "trifecta" bill. The bill combines a minimum-wage hike with an estate-tax cut and other popular tax-credit extensions.

Early last month, the bill to raise the minimum wage fell short by three votes. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) told senators before the August vote that the minimum wage issue would not receive another chance. But a Frist spokeswoman confirmed that he is considering calling up the trifecta bill again sometime this month.
