Customers are more satisfied with nursing homes than they were a year ago, according to an annual report.

Overall, scores were up in seven of the areas examined, according to My Innerview, an industry-affiliated organization. Among respondents, 80% and said quality of life at their facility was “excellent” or “good.” The authors noted that leadership “plays a vital role in shaping organizational culture.”

Bruce Yarwood, CEO of the American Health Care Association, called the report “an excellent tool” to assess facility performance. Ironically, the report comes after the Government Accountability Office reported that many poor facilities continue to flout Medicare and Medicaid rules.
