Relias Learning expands presence

Relias Learning announced second quarter results for 2014 that reflected its expansion into new markets.

The company recorded 30% year-over-year sales growth, and a 180% sales growth and 60% revenue growth in hospice. Relias obtained 370 new clients.

“We are seeing the use of SaaS-based training solutions accelerate across a wide range of industries,” said Relias CEO Jim Triandiflou. “Health and human services organizations, in particular, are seeing the benefit of online training for compliance, continuing education units and staff development. 

“The reliable tracking of compliance training, breadth of content and hard dollar savings is appealing to a
wide range of industries and providers.”

In May, the company added 90 palliative care courses following the acquisition of Hospice Education Network. The company also recently added 8,000 square feet of office space to its Cary, NC, headquarters. 

In August, Relias announced that the latest release of its learning management system includes Tin Can API, an open-source e-learning software specification. This means users can have enhanced mobile and tablet use, off-line access to mobile learning, simulations with instructors and more support.

“Supporting the Tin Can API ensures our customers and their employees have the most advanced mobile learning capabilities and the ability to leverage the latest and greatest in adult learning tools and techniques,” said Triandiflou. “Launching this new platform and supporting the Tin Can API will allow Relias to set a strong foundation for our customers to leverage this cutting-edge technology and provide the most impactful and meaningful training in the market.”

In 2013, Relias Learning acquired Care2Learn from VectorLearning, which itself had merged with Upstairs Solutions a year previously.
