Providers now can apply for EHR incentives
Starting this week, eligible hospitals and healthcare providers are allowed to apply to electronic health records incentive programs provided by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Providers interested in Medicare EHR incentives could begin applying Jan. 3, Becker's Hospital Review reported.
Providers and physicians looking for Medicaid EHR incentives must first register at the CMS registration site, as well as complete eligibility verification through their respective state Medicaid program. Only providers in certain states, including Alaska, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Michigan, Misissippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, can sign up for Medicaid incentives, according to Becker's.
