Good news, bad news for Alzheimer's research

Joint Commission Resources this week launched its third annual “Flu Vaccination Challenge.” The initiative will recognize healthcare facilities that achieve worker vaccination rates of 75% or more.

Last year, facilities, which included long-term care facilities, achieved an average immunization rate of 76%. That is a 13% increase over the rate reported in 2008-2009 and 27% above the national health care workers flu vaccination average.

JCR is a not-for-profit affiliate of The Joint Commission. The mission of JCR is to continuously improve the safety and quality of healthcare in the United States and in the international community through the provision of education, publications, consultation, and evaluation services, according to JCR.
