When it comes to their nursing home, a large majority of consumers and workers would be willing to recommend their facility to others, according to the results of a new survey.

The 2009 National Survey of Consumer and Workforce Satisfaction in Nursing Homes, from nursing home research firm My InnerView, finds that 85% of residents and families would be willing to recommend their facility to someone else. Similarly, 68% of staff members would recommend their facility as a good place to work. The most consistent factors in a positive recommendation from consumers were care and competency of staff.

The 2009 National Survey sampled 82,473 residents,150,829 family members and 283,404 workers at 5,091 facilities across the country. More information, including the full survey, is available online at www.myinnerview.com.
