McKnight's double-Gold raises ASHPE awards total to 49

McKnight's Long-Term Care News has earned the Gold Award for Best News Coverage for the fifth straight year. McKnight's also earned Gold for its Daily Update newsletter and three other honors in the national ASHPE Awards program.

McKnight's won a Silver Award for Best Single Issue (September 2012) in the 2013 contest, organizers announced Wednesday. It also took home Bronze Awards in the Best Profile and Best Special Supplement, Annual or Buyer's Guide categories. Senior Editor Elizabeth Newman's story on NADONA President Robin Arnicar and the McKnight's Industry Directory, were the Bronze recipients, respectively.

The cache raises McKnight's total number of national journalism awards in recent years to 78, for everything ranging from digital and online pieces to profile and news writing, among others. Included are 49 in the ASHPE program, including 15 Golds.

ASHPE stands for the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors. Each year, it honors editorial excellence among all types of U.S. healthcare publications. Hospital and Health Networks was named Publication of the Year in 2013, a designation McKnight's was honored with in 2009.
