The House may vote to raise the minimum wage before the end of summer.

House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and Rep. Steve LaTourette (R) met last week to discuss voting on such legislation before Congress recesses in August.

LaTourette showed Boehner a letter signed by 28 Republicans supporting an increase in the minimum wage. Signees included: Reps. Curt Weldon (PA), Christopher Shays (CT), Mike Fitzpatrick (PA), James Walsh (NY), John Sweeney (NY), Nancy Johnson (CT) and Rob Simmons (CT).
