IT'S HERE! McKnight's Expo kicks off today: IT, unions and eldercare services highlight first day's programs
Senior care's first online trade show and educational meeting starts this morning, with three diverse sessions today. Individuals still can sign up for their free look and listen regarding the nationally respected line-up of presenters and suppliers. Click here to register: http://www.mcknightsonline.com/content/index.php?id=153."Incorporating technology at your facility" starts at 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time and will be followed by "Deterring or dealing with newly empowered unions" at 2 p.m. EST and "Serving the eldercare spectrum" at 3 p.m. EST. All sessions, including those being conducted tomorrow, will remain available in archived format after the show's close. But cost-free registration still will be required to grant users access.
Given recent workplace events, today's session on unions figures to be one of the expo's most popular.
"With congressional Democrats back in charge, Big Labor is calling in its IOUs," says leading labor management attorney Stephen Cabot, who will conduct the session and offer advice. "One major victory (for them) came with the recent passage in the House of the perversely named 'The Employee Free Choice Act,' which strips workers of their right to a secret ballot in organizing elections. More changes are coming, and wise employers will prepare for the worst."
