Family files lawsuit after woman dies in nursing home van
The family of an 87-year-old woman who died after being left in a nursing home van filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against the driver and three companies that own the facility.
Hazel Forsythe was left in the van for several hours in August in Belton, TX, where temperatures reached the 90s.
The suit was filed on behalf of Forsythe's daughter Patsy Wallace. It alleges negligence and seeks damages to cover expenses stemming from the death and for Wallace and Forsythe's suffering.
It also seeks punitive damages against Sunrise Oaks Health Care, the nursing home's owners.
