The nation’s largest senior living trade association has launched a new initiative to hone in on best practices for dementia care.

Argentum, formally the Assisted Living Federation of America, is asking providers to share their practices for memory care, or ones they admire, as part of the dementia care initiative announced Wednesday. The collected findings will be presented in a white paper to be released later this year.

The initiative’s launch comes ahead of Argentum’s four-day Senior Living Executive Conference to be held in Denver from May 9-12. The conference includes educational sessions focused on the 12 top issues facing the senior living industry, including gerontology, compliance, economics and capital partnerships.

The conference will also host the Executive Director Leadership Institute, an intensive educational experience that spans the four days of the conference and aims to give executive directors the tools to enhance their work in their senior living communities.
