Healthcare advocacy groups, including the American Health Care Association, have been urging Congress to include additional funds for Medicaid in a second possible stimulus package.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has already hinted that any new stimulus package would contain extended unemployment benefits, infrastructure projects and support for struggling state governments. AHCA, AARP, AFL-CIO and other organizations last week asked Congress to include an increase in the Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) to states.

AHCA plans to unveil a new Medicaid study by Eljay LLC next week that “will underscore the chronic under-funding of long-term care and point to the need for policy leaders to address Medicaid in the coming months,” the organization said in a statement.
