Another new long-term care organization has taken root. The board of the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators has formed the American Association of Nurse Executives to meet the specific needs of nurse executives specializing in long-term care.

A Web-based organization, AANEX is designed to provide information, education, networking, and certification for directors of nursing, staff development coordinators and nurse managers. The membership fee for the site is $80 until the end of the year and $110 thereafter.

This new organization is not affiliated with the American Organization of Nurse Executives, which is a subsidiary of the American Hospital Association.
