Puritan Medical Products has released a swab and collection tube for the detection of norovirus.

The system is a product in Puritan EnviroMax line and was developed in partnership with Jan Vinje of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The swab is connected to a transport tube, offering a user-friendly handle, and is meant to swab environmental surfaces.

A study evaluating the EnviroMax Macrofoam Norovirus Detection Swab and Collection Tube is here. Puritan manufactures all of its flocked swab products in its Guilford, ME, facility.
