Market basket increase gives operators additional buying power

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that nursing homes will see a slight improvement in their Medicare market basket rates next year. The 1.7% increase will give facilities additional buying power at a time when other sectors are seeing payment reductions. Nursing homes will realize an additional $542 million as a result, according to CMS.
