Quality Care Properties kept the heat on HCR ManorCare top managers, announcing in mid-August that it had begun the process of appointing an independent receiver to oversee the provider’s skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.

ManorCare execs promised to fight the move “vigorously.”

QCP, a real estate investment trust, said on numerous occasions recently that ManorCare had failed to pay rents owed.

Earlier in summer, ManorCare also lost one of its major investors, private equity and investment firm Carlyle Group.
