The John Scott House Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Braintree, MA, announced renovation plans.

It will include replacing the original Victorian model and add a creation of an outdoor resident patio. There will be expanded parking with a covered drive-up main entrance and complete refurbishment of resident rooms.

In 1949, the John Scott House was established by Thomas and Rita M. Welch. The Welch Group nursing center is relocating the rehabilitation gym to the newly created post-acute short-term rehabilitation unit. It is adding a new dedicated living room and dining room.

“John Scott House symbolizes our company’s early history and the pioneering vision of my parents, Thomas and Rita Welch,” says Richard M. Welch, president of Welch Healthcare and Retirement Group. “My parents, with their modest 11-bed nursing home, found themselves at the forefront of an industry in its infancy, effecting changes that shaped the industry to this day.”
