Robert Guillemette, a 72-year-old Rocky Hill, CT, resident dying of cancer, has a last wish: to find his long-lost brother, Raymond, whom he had not seen since 1990. Family and friends scoured the nearby town Meriden for Raymond, who suffered from alcoholism and was believed to have died homeless on the streets, according to the Associated Press. Raymond was found at the State Veteran’s nursing home.

Spotting a newspaper article in the Record-Journal of Meriden, nurse Rich Kunze at the State Veterans Hospital knew Raymond was at the adjoining nursing home. Kunze had a colleague call the family.

The brothers were reunited Tuesday. Raymond Guillemette is on a 28-day leave from the home to visit with his brother, Robert.
