The Joint Commission is seeking provider feedback on national patient-safety goals intended to decrease infections such as ventilator-related pneumonia and catheter-related urinary tract infections.

The Join Commission is part of the Hospital-Associated Infection Allied Task Force, a stakeholder group that created evidence-based strategies aimed at reducing morbidity and mortality rates for six hospital-associated infections. Previous strategies were posted in 2008 in the Infection Control & Epidemiology.

Input from providers is due to the commission by Jan. 27, 2011. To view more about the goals, visit the Joint Commission website.
