The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and the Department of Justice will investigate a Snapchat video allegedly taken by workers at a skilled nursing facility that shows a resident getting into the shower.

A screenshot of the video, which reportedly shows a resident at LifeHOUSE Vista Healthcare Center in Vista, CA, being helped into the shower while two employees laughed, was sent by an anonymous source to a local television station.

The sheriff’s department said two employees, one who allegedly took the video and another who appears in the background, have been suspended without pay and could face charges of elder abuse and computer crime. The investigation is complicated due to Snapchat’s format of deleting videos once they have been viewed, the department said.

“The LifeHOUSE Vista healthcare community takes any allegations of patient abuse very seriously,” Sharron Clark, executive director for LifeHOUSE, said in a statement to San Diego’s 10News. “We are currently completing our own internal investigation with respect to these allegations.”

This is not the first time a SNF worker has landed in trouble due to Snapchat. In August, two employees of a Massachusetts nursing home were charged with permitting abuse on an elderly or disabled person for videos of residents they posted to the popular social media app. An employee at an Indiana nursing home was charged with voyeurism in June after she shared a photo of a nude resident with another employee.
