I just love the news

Despite the economy, the price of gas and what is going on in Syria, it's all good news for me.

I was reading recent media reports and found the following: There is evidence that moderate alcohol consumption reduces risk for Alzheimer's disease. A Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) study found that people over age 65 who drank up to one alcoholic beverage a day had about half the risk of Alzheimer's disease as nondrinkers.

Another study reported that resveratrol, a compound in red wine, broke down beta-amyloid (in laboratory experiments), which suggests that red wine in particular may be protective. Another media report showed that dark chocolate could be its great self and also lower your blood pressure.

AND yet another report showed that coffee intake can reduce your risk of diabetes mellitus type 2 by up to 50%.  Oh, happy day!

I know what I am doing this weekend!

Just keeping it real (and short this week),

Nurse Jackie
