HHS encouraging everyone to receive H1N1 vaccine

The Department of Health and Human Services Thursday widened its H1N1 flu vaccination campaign to those who are not considered at high risk of contracting the illness.

"Take advantage of the supply and get vaccinated as soon as you can," HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said.

So far, the department has been promoting the vaccine only to those most vulnerable of catching it. These include pregnant women, children, healthcare workers and young adults. Adults 65 and older have not been considered a high-risk population. H1N1, or swine flu, has been on the decline, but officials cautioned that a third wave could still occur. Nearly 100 million doses of the vaccine are available to states.
