Guardian Pharmacy, the third-largest long-term care pharmacy company in the U.S., announced it is marking its 10th anniversary. 

In its nascent decade, the pharmacy has increased prescriptions from 300,000 to more than 5 million, and grown from 70 employees to more than 1,000. It has also expanded from one pharmacy to 22, and has a compound annual growth rate of more than 32%.

Guardian serves 14 states and 50,000 residents.

Fred Burke, Kendall Forbes and David Morris founded the company along with investors Bindley Capital Partners and Cardinal Equity Partners. Guardian was named a Georgia Fast 40 company five times and an Atlanta Business Chronicle Pacesetter and Top 100 private company five times. In 2012, Burke received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Alabama/Georgia/Tennessee Award in the “Healthcare” category.
