The 6th Annual National Falls Prevention Awareness Day will take place Sunday around the country. Its goal is to unite professionals, older adults, caregivers, and family members to promote public awareness of how to prevent falls, one of the biggest sources of injuries among seniors. "Preventing Falls — One Step at a Time" is the theme of the campaign. Organizers have amassed a bevy of information, including tips on staging an event and methods of effective advocacy.
Senior care stakeholders should consider creative partnerships to reduce falls, according to an expert on a National Council on Aging/IlluminAge Communication Partners webcast yesterday.
