Preparing for more aggressive auditing of therapy processes was a focal point of a special McKnight’s webcast today. Providers learned about current best practices for documentation, common pitfalls operators fall into and how to truly involve the interdisciplinary team to avert regulatory problems.

Presented by industry veterans Mary Van de Kamp, Senior Vice President, Clinical Operations, Peoplefirst Rehabilitation, and colleague Glenda Mack, Senior Director, Clinical Operations, at Peoplefirst, the session informed attendees how to move their facilities from “compliance risk” to “performance excellence.” They also urged operators to understand all of the provisions of rehab services for their settings; to get a handle on who is interpreting the rules in their environment; and to discern whether that person truly understands all of the nuances involved.
