studioSIX5, an Austin-based senior living interior design firm, recently completed an expansion project with with Erickson Living’s Wind Crest Continuing Care Retirement Community in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Plans began in 2012 to create a second neighborhood at the community, which first opened in 2007. Wind Crest then secured studioSIX5 to complete a vision for a total of three neighborhoods, which consist of three club houses, 12 residential buildings and a continuing care center.

“When we started collaborating with Wind Crest, it was one of the largest projects I had worked on to date, and I was the only person managing all the buildings,” said Leslie McVey Hicks, project design manager at studioSIX5 and design lead for this project. “It’s always a fun challenge to be ahead of the curve when designing these projects so they’re still relevant and modern when they are installed years later. Now we have a team of five that focuses on all of our Erickson Living clients across the country. They tend to use us when they’re looking for some ‘wow’ factor for a building in a specific market.”
