Interrad Medical has received Food and Drug Administration approval for its SecurAcath Universal Subcutaneous Catheter Securement System. The device holds indwelling catheters in place. Rather than sutures or adhesives, the product uses a small subcutaneous anchor, according to the firm. The product allows for easier cleaning and helps reduce infections.
