A proposed nursing home for St. Peters, MO, has received Certificate of Need approval, but not before many argued whether it should be built.

McClay Health and Rehab’s project was approved by the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee in a 5-3 vote, The Missouri Times reported. The 60-bed facility will take Medicaid-eligible residents, but nearby nursing home owners said there was no need for another facility in the South St. Charles County and West St. Louis County area.

The new facility will be a $6.8 million project, the St. Louis Business Journal reported.
