Jacqueline Vance, RN

I do not like these acronyms,

These baffling lettered synonyms.

I get confused at what they mean,

LTC — too many to glean.

We have MAR and TAR,

MDS 3-point-whatever can’t be far.

OIG and QAPI,

Boy, it’s all so choppy!

And what about EHR and EMR?

So many, I want to hit a bar.

From PRN to QID,

Oh, acronyms, just let me be!

I can’t tell if they are clean or crass,

But PDCA doesn’t mean Plan, Do and Cover your a@@!!!

I’m begging for an acronym appeal,

It’s Nurse Jackie … just keeping it real!
