Record crowds on Wednesday attended the first day of the 5th Annual McKnight's Online Expo, which wraps up today with seminars focusing on payment issues and new quality initiatives. It's not too late to register for these events at www.mcknights.com/expo2011.

At 11 a.m. EST, McKnight's return speaker Leah Klusch, executive director of the Alliance Training Center, will lead a discussion of payment issues and the transition to the new MDS 3.0. Her webcast, “Leaving Medicare dollars on the table,” will be a fast-paced session for members of the assessment and management team.

Closing out this portion of the Expo will be Lori-Ann Griffin, RN, supervising nurse consultant for the State of Connecticut's Department of Public Health, Facility Licensing and Inspections Section. At 1 p.m., Griffin will discuss quality improvement initiatives in her session, “How the QIS is changing quality management.”

Each McKnight's webinar is worth one continuing education unit. But while the content will be online until Sept. 30, only those who attended the live webinars are eligible for CE credit. Online Expo attendees also can visit 24 virtual vendor booths, where company representatives will be on hand to discuss new products and services. Register online at www.mcknights.com/expo2011.
