Craig Cornett will become the new CEO and president at The California Association of Health Facilities. He was previously the budget director and chief fiscal advisor for the California Senate.
Cornett replaces Jim Gomez, who is retiring and will serve as a consultant during the transition.
In addition to his work in the state Senate, Cornett has worked with Speakers of the California Assembly Robert Hertzberg, Herb Wesson, Fabian Nunez and Karen Bass.
He previously worked at the California Legislative Analyst’s Office for 17 years.
Cornett completed his bachelor’s degree at Washington and Lee University and his master’s degree at LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He will begin Dec. 4.
