» Caremerge LLC unveiled plans in April for a partnership with Care Technology Systems. Data and alerts from the latter’s sensors can be combined with activity and clinical data from Caremerge, providing a more complete reporting picture. 

» Joerns Healthcare announced the sale of its furnishings business to Akin Industries in March. The Design and Furnishings business no longer aligned with the company’s strategy, which includes a focus on prevention and healing, plus therapeutic support surfaces, negative pressure wound therapy and patient handling, officials said.

» Bulk TV & Internet announced a partnership with Consulate Health Care’s healthcare and rehabilitation centers in March. Bulk TV is able to accommodate and install a custom-built TV system for properties in as little as a week, allowing the provider to avoid complicated remotes in each resident’s room.

» Sherpa, developed by One On One and Integrity, has debuted as a new senior housing lead tracking tool. The product focuses on creating a holistic profile of individual prospects, with a result of better visit-to-close ratios. 

» Carstens Inc. announced it is entering into a three-year agreement with HPSI Purchasing Solutions so that the company can sell Carstens’ products in long-term care. This includes record-keeping products such as charting systems. HPSI is a group purchasing organization based in Irvine, CA.

» OnShift honored six winners in its OnShift Scheduler of the Year Awards in March. The victors were Lisa Battistelli of Osprey Village, Senior Living Communities; Shawna Garwood of Celina Manor, HCF Management Inc.; Chuck Hillier of Altercare of Mentor Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing Care, Altercare of Ohio; Beth Secord of Burcham Hills, Brookdale Senior Living; Hailey Wetherbee of Kendal at Hanover, The Kendal Corporation; and Lynn Zeman of Tudor Oaks, American Baptist Homes of the Midwest. OnShift also recognized Audrey Toepper, National Church Residences Mill Run, as an “OnShift Champion.”
