CMS reveals durable medical equipment product categories for competitive bidding

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has released product categories for the second round of an upcoming durable medical equipment competitive bidding program. The official bidding schedule will be released in the fall, according to federal regulators. The program calls for suppliers within designated areas to submit bids for specific items. Products that will be bid upon will include oxygen supplements, walkers, support surfaces and negative pressure wound therapy pumps.
