The 10th Annual McKnight's Online Expo is little more than two weeks away and organizers say registrations are proceeding at a record pace. The virtual trade show features five webinars and CE credits, all free, on March 29 and 30. There will also be a popular interactive exhibit hall.
The McKnight's Fall Online Expo offers three educational webinars on Sept. 9, with each offering continuing education credit. As always, attendance and CE credits are free for attendees. The event comprises webcasts covering compliance, family/resident relationships, and managed care issues at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively (all times Eastern).

Although the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has not finalized the rules for the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiative, it has released a set of materials to help providers start implementing programs for it. McKnight's will provide an extensive update on it during a free webcast Sept. 18 that will also offer free CE credit. The event starts at 1 p.m. Eastern and will suggest practical approaches for provider success.
Even at the nation's best nursing facilities, residents are susceptible to four universal challenges: falls, incontinence, pressure ulcers and unintended weight loss. This McKnight's one-hour live webcast on July 16 will examine why this fearsome foursome is especially challenging, and offer practical strategies providers can use. The lead presenter will be Leah Klusch, executive director of the Alliance Training Center, and no-cost CE credit will be available.
Providers will get an up-close look at problems with the nursing home survey process from a nationally respected expert during the first 2012 McKnight's Super Tuesday webcast. The event will take place at 1 p.m. (Eastern) on Tuesday and earn attendees continuing education (CE) credit. Linda Elizaitis, RNC, RAC-CT, BS, the president of CMS Compliance Group, will examine national trends in survey deficiencies, note at least 10 things that can help an operator prevent deficiencies and also explain how to avoid so-called "gotcha" deficiencies. Registration for the no-cost event is ongoing.
