Hartmann USA recently unveiled a brochure that explains the benefits of using its first silver product, Sorbalgon Ag wound care dressing. Sorbalgon is a soft gelling calcium alginate dressing, composed of soft, textile fibers of calcium alginate. When it comes into contact with wound exudates, Sorbalgon forms a gel by exchanging calcium ions the dressing for sodium ions from the exudate. Sorbalgon is highly absorbent and suitable for use on moderate to highly exuding wounds.
