Ventas Inc. completed its $7.6 billion acquisition of Nationwide Health Properties on July 1, creating the largest healthcare REIT in the U.S.

In June, Ventas and Nationwide said they would pay prorated dividends for the current quarter following the acquisition. The dividends are based on their last dividend rates, 57.5 cents per share at Ventas and 48 cents per share at Nationwide.

The rate was multiplied by the number of days from the last dividend record date up to the day before the sale closed, divided by 91 days in the quarter.
