Robyn Stone, senior vice president for research at the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, has been selected to serve on the Department of Labor’s Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship.

The 30-person committee is composed of representatives from labor unions, employers and the general public. ACA serves to provide recommendations for possible legislation, policy initiatives and regulations regarding apprenticeships. The committee is expected to develop apprenticeship opportunities for all sectors of the economy, including aging services. Stone is executive director of AAHSA’s Institute for the Future of Aging Services.

In a statement of support, AAHSA president and CEO Larry Minnix said he is “confident that Robyn’s knowledge will help the committee understand the value of apprenticeships in recruiting and retaining talented individuals to serve our nation’s older adults.”
