Like many organizations looking to trim costs, the federal government is adjusting the way it pays for medications. In a teleconference with reporters earlier this week, officials from the Department of Health and Human Services announced new incentives to promote greater  use of e-prescribing. The Medicare program alone could save more than $150 million over five years by making the switch, they noted.
